The lame loan horse that the owner didn't want back has been found a new home as a broodmare and is getting picked up at the weekend.
Amazingly, the Owner has signed document to sign the mare over to the new lady - all facilitated by my fantastic solicitor (who took the case of the broken horse to his heart, bless him). All happened very unexpectedly and very easily - tis amazing who you can get chatting to in a feed shop! She's a friend of the woman who owns the shop and came recommended as a good home - I went to visit yesterday and was very reassured that she'd be well looked after.
Am dead chuffed for the horse as this truly the best outcome for her - a permanent, non riding home for life. She's due back in season next week so is going straight to stud when she's collected.
Truly brilliant news (and my OH is very relieved
