..just a totally pointless thread to celebrate it nearly being the weekend!

Its been an awful week for me and my lot, took the three of them for a walk in the woods by the river and all seemed fine at the end of the walk. I even hosed them off at the end of the walk. That evening though Smiley jumped up onto sofa and lay on her back for a tummy rub and she had 3/4 inch V-shaped laceration to her underside!

So on Wednesday she went to vets, went under anesthetic, was stitched up and has been very miserable since wearing the cone of shame and restricted to lead walks while the other two come back from a run in the fields and tell her what she missed out on!

So I cant wait to see the back of the this icky and expensive week! (£300 vet bill!)

 Imagine if she hadn't wanted a tummy rub!

I hope it is healing as it should, that the weekend has been good and that the "cone" haven't caused too much trouble.

;) But maybe it is a "cone of shame", because it isn't fashionable? Have you considered adding a little lace and stuff?

Seriously though, I remember thinking that it was a big improvment when the see-through plastic cone came, I also have a Buster Inflatable Elizabethan Collar, there is in fact, quite a few new versions/things available for those looking for an alternative to the standard elizabethan collar...

If she really dislikes her current cone, maybe it could be worth doing a search for alternatives. There is inflatable collars, like ProCollar, Kong Cloud E-Collar, Buster Inflatable Elizabethan Collar, BooBooLoon and Comfy Collar.
The eye shielding thingies is possibly called Optivisor/Optivizor or Novaguard.
Things to keep the neck straight is BiteNot Collar and Neck’s Best Thing.
Elizabethan collars but in other materials, that at least in some versions can be worn so that it looks like a big disc, be bent a little to suit better etc., is Comfy Cone, Soft-E Collar, Trimline Recovery Collar and Cuddle Cone (and probaly more).

But fingers crossed that she is getting better so quickly that you don't need to look into the alternatives.
