OK I'll quickly set the scene,
I feed all and sundry 5 days a week now, used to do 7 but friend said she would do 2 days. I don't have to feed, but i am always first one down and like the yard to be fed at the same time, (feel mean on the others) so everyone leaves feeds and nets outside for me.
Now, William is on box rest and very bored, so split feed into three to break up his day.
12.30 today get a call from a lady on the yard saying that William had not been fed his morning feed and neither had friends horses.
I panic thinking something had happened to friend, (going through rough patch with OH) ring her and she says she forgot to feed, never mind they won't die for just one day.
I'm mortified!! I am there for her horses for vets dentist and backwoman and always turn them out and do them as if they are my own, so a little remorse would have gone a long way!!!
Yes i am over reacting, but i feel bad for Will as he is putting up with a lot at the moment, needs strict routine and is very food orientated.
Feel badly let down so now am going back to 7 days a week feeding so i know he's done (which to be honest is what i think she is angling for)
Rant over, will retreat back to my happy place!

Congratulations on your first rant!! Yey.

I'd feel very let down to. Can't imagine how you could forget to fee tbh.

Hey ho.

God I be pi**ed off too, more by the lack of remorse than anything else (once got down to yard to find note saying that X had forgotten to feed mine and another before she turned out, but never mind they would just come in slimmer!!! Arghhh WTF

). How about you go back to feeding 7 days a week, but just feed your own? IMHO think the others are taking advantage.

I'm too soft TBH,

but i don't do it for the owners, i do it for the horses.

They all get their breakfast together and none of them weave or kick the doors as they know in which order they get fed!

could you really not just feed your own and leave the rest for the other owners or at least charge them for feeding! Do you own the yard? or is it a small private one? charging them may help them to get out of bed to feed there own!

922 posta and that's your first rant! you're a very mellow person- congrats.
Def justified on this occasion though- very slack of your friend to just not turn up for your boy especially if he's on box rest- i'd be peed off too.
