I've just got to get Milton Keynes 3DE out of the way then I can contact them and see what poor souls they have in who are looking for homes - I said anything which will get on with Talisker

Thats great, bet they couldn't believe their luck when you offered to home some poor soul. Hope Talisker likes his new friend.
Fruity, you are brave taking on a beagle

Thanks everyone

My new greyhound was going to be called Emily originally, so I could shorten the dogs names to Em-and-Tal (a bit cheesy I know

) but my Mum told me off about that so she will be Islay instead. Really hope I can have a black greyhound as I love them, but really any will be fine with me

I will post lots of pics when they have found a suitable one for me, and she comes home with me and Tal

I have to agree with MurphysMinder, you are brave taking on a beagle - my mum had one years ago, she said he was into all the dustbins etc all the time

im so pleased that you decided to get a greyhound especially a black one as they often get over looked by their colour

I have two black whippets ..not as big as a GRH but same temperment..lovely

Post pic when you get him/her

i know they are definatley not for the faint hearted!!! I have 2 terriers already and work at a vets part time and have my own dog walking company so it will have a great beagle friendly life, the going through bins thing is their absoloute favourite past time.

I'm going to eventually breed them,i've hand reared many litters and have always been very keen on them so will venture into it,i have a close friend who has the same lines from the one that won crufts 'best hound' this year, stunning!

If you arn't a true out and out country bumpkin and are precious and in experienced then that is when things do go wrong with this breed, you need to be very firm but fair and they strive on routine,oh and about 4hrs walking a day!!!!
