Blue went really nicely last night!!

We've totally sussed walk now, and trot is there 90% of the time on both reins now - we had major problems with the left rein to begin with... all this in 4 weeks!!

Canter is still shite though...

read the post yesterday and plan to try some of the suggestions but am more impressed with the fact we now have a decent walk and trot!

Have another lesson tonight so will see how he goes in that, we have majorally improved 200% since the first with this instructor which was um 4 weeks ago!!

Am SOOOOOOOOOOOOO pleased with him at the moment with how his flatwork is coming on!

My long term aim is to get the canter sorted (hopefully wont be that long term as walk and trot took 4 weeks!

Well done you and thanks for posting, gives me hope we can turn my young chap around quite quickly now we've got his teeth sorted.

At the moment trot is still a challenge , my sister saw him for the first time last weekend and her comment was he looks lovely but does he always scurry like that?

Canter's best not mentioned.

So well done and I hope to see the we've cracked canter post at the end of October.

No not Mark, had just the one lesson with him.

Lessons with Yvonne don't know her last name but can probably find out, she's brilliant!

Oh bother I really hate it when that happens and it happens to me a lot; although I have a good instructor who isn't worried about melting in the rain but if it's chucking it down and windy you just can't get anything constructive done can you.

Tell us when the next one is booked so we can send good weather vibes your way.

Scurry as in scurry pony trot , very short strides very very fast and weeeee whizz like a motor bike round the corners; whilst blatently ignoring mums slow and gentle rising trying to get the bugger to slow down.
Also crossed with the fling your head in the air cross your jaw and peee off back to the gate.

Think the worst naughty little riding school pony you've come across and that's my lovely Andalusian in the school

Ah well I like a challenge.

Oh i see! Sounds a little like my welsh mare - although she did get better she still bit motorbike impressions round corners but generally trot has improved! Is he young? You didn't buy him that long ago if i remember correctly?

No I got him in May and he's had some time off sorting out his teeth.
Age well pick a number really bought as an 8 year old but no proof of that and our Dentist says he's 6. So I take the middle option and say he's 7.
But he's been a trekking pony previously so everything is very new to him. Unless he's got his nose stuck up the horse infronts butt he's green as grass. Bless.
