Maybe not but it will be fine for people who don't have hundreds to spend on rugs etc.....
I will have to check my local store out to see if they have any.
Thanks for that Pinkerton

They tried them in the Stoke Tesco Extra 2 years ago, but they did not sell well. Their website has sold horsey stuff since then too.

ALDI and Lidl each do horse stuff twice a year too, so it is worth subscribing to their email offer services as when the stuff comes in, it goes quickly too!

I bought some brushes, hoof picks and a hayledge net yesterday. The quality seems to be OK for what it is for except that the hayledge net is very small and made like a sausage - hopeless if you have a large hungry horse! Its great having horsey products at Tesco for hiding your horsey purchases though - the cost just gets hidden in the general grocery bill

my store did this last year and it was GREAT. our local store is having a second storey built so i hope it includes horsey bits. seems most of us are very excited yippeeeeeee so if we all use it they wont lose it. its funny tho, what grocery bill??? since i have had my boy ive not been grocery shopping nor cooked once, no time no inclination - he never goes without though

They've changed their method and started to go for horsey brands

Cirencester store has the following:

Polly Products Riding Hat (as in Poly Pads)
Red Rum grooming products
Absorbine - show shine, hooflex etc

Sure there were other things, but I was surprised!

I saw the horsey stuff in the Tesco Direct catalogue and wondered about the quality of it - having bought my daughter some non-branded jods (not from there) only to have the seams start to wear/come apart after a couple of washes I wondered if it is worth paying less. However, if they start selling branded goods then that wouold be very useful.

They're really quite good.

A friend of mine bought one of the fleece cooler jobbies when Tesco first started selling them and it's still going strong.

i bought an exercise sheet from there, seems decent enough, even better was that it was £6.50 in the sale, reduced from £25.00!!! woo hoo, im not going to complain at that price, i couldn't get a fleece lined exercise sheet in my tackshop gfor £6.50

I have to say the stuff I've had from there has been excellent value for money and when they do have a sale the reductions are genuine.

I had a double thickness fleece for £17 and it was really good, have used it to death lately!

TBH I would rather buy proper branded stuff from well known and respected names. I looked on the Tesco website at rugs - they were about £40ish but I could get a decent Horseware / Weatherbeeta for that price online or off Ebay! Personally I wouldnt buy anything more than maybe some gloves from them.

I probably won't buy anything from the store (don't need anything), but the rugs on tesco direct are excellent - just as good quality (if not better) than "proper" rugs, and a good price.

Yes, I was gobsmacked to see rugs and so on in my large Tesco last year. They had them in the seasonal aisle though, and they have since disappeared so either they didn't sell very well, or they've hidden them somewhere up on the second floor (which, quite frankly, is a maze and scares me!)

my larger local store in liverpool has just got horsey stuff in got some coat shine and hoof oil and bits an bobs like that the other day probebley a pound or so cheaper but saves on either postage and packaging or petrol to get up to robinsons

Our local store sold horse stuff last year. The half chaps were good value and mine are still going strong unlike the more expensive branded ones I bought that fell apart at the seemsreally quickly. The jodhs were an appalling cut though so I wouldn't buy those again.

The rugs are excellent quality and are made in the same factories as the "named" products! I to have the double fleece rugs and they are stunning quality and perform brilliantly, every bit as good a Thermatex at a fraction of the price. The online sales are outstanding value as others have said.
