One very happy me this morning.

My OH has bought me a horse trailer! It's my first time ever I will have my own horse transport!
It's going to change my life!! :)
No more having to tag along with others! I have freedom!!!!

So anyways it's a small Rice Hunter box, he's going to collect it Friday.

What kind of insurance do I need?
And any recommendations on who to go with?

Do I need to tell my car insurance people I'm going to tow?

Oh oh oh.... :) :)

Thanks. :)

How exciting :D

I'd try different insurers (used to rate NFU, but not so much now :( ).

Get a lock of some sort and get extra keys!

Numberplate - you'll need your car's log book (Halfords do them).

I don't know if you have to tell your insurance people, but I did. My car insurance covered me if I were to cause any damage whilst towing my trailer, but not if my trailer was damaged whilst towing (bizarre I thought).

Also you'll need breakdown cover. Shop around as there is all different sorts. My fully everything AA cover uses a buddy system, i.e. a local farm/equine person will come and take the trailer if the car breaks down; and the trailer is covered as well as the car.

These are all great ideas.
Didn't even think of the number plate.
I might even go get that today!! Yay!
Im not sure I'll need breakdown, as at the moment my shows are so close if I got into trouble I could get picked up. But certainly will consider that when I start venturing out a bit.

Defo getting CCTV.

Oh trailer locks are a must must must. Do they sell these in halfords? I might pop in for a browse today. :)

Thank you
