Just phoned the vets cos I couldnt wait any longer, Islay is fine and is waking up in her kennel now, but is unfortunately minus quite a lot of teeth! Flipping greyhounds with their dodgy teeth, I've only had her since May and I had thought they had been done whilst she was in rescue kennels

But anyway, hugely hugely relieved that she is OK, and thanks for the support this morning

Thanks Mattilda - I'm really pleased they did her this morning (assumed they would do, since they gave her the sedative whilst I was there!) since it means that she will be fully round when I pick her up after work. I have the chicken and rice ready to be cooked tonight

I think I should be a share holder in my vets TBH, I am dreading todays bill as well but never mind, they are worth it

Haven't read the other post yet, but I'm very glad everything went well.

On the other hand, I must say I wish there was some warning system on HHO, that would prepare myself a little in advance of what to read. I haven't been out on the internet during this morning, and when I do, first thing that catches my eyes is your Christmas user name and a post where my brain only registered Islay's name, and before I realised what the rest of title said...

Hope the rest of your day at work will feel like this

Off to read your other post, from Sweden.

ETS After reading your other post, my great grandmother feared the first week of october.
Her husband died, an adult sister she was very close to died and an adult daughter died, although different years, they all died during the first week of october. And I think there were some other relatives to, but those are the three I remember.

Personally I fear the combination of family birthday + ill pet, especially every other time. To give you the last four examples :
January 2005 the day after a nephews birthday, my first Norwegian Buhund Nessie died. February 2006 two weeks before my fathers birthday, my Smooth Collie Raya died. January 2008 the day after my sisters birthday, my last Norwegian Buhund Humla died. April 2008 one week and three days before my birthday, my cat Aldis died. /ets.
