Sorry guys I know it's not easy to tell but as she is only a few inches (she's 14.2hh Mum is 15HH) off the size of her Mum at not even a year old ( D.O.B 16/3/10) and we never met Dad but am told he was a big hunter type coloured thing I would like your experienced guestimates as to what size she will end up.

Thank you.

You could try measuring from the coronet to the middle of the knee the lenght it is in inches is ment to be the adult height in hands. It is not gaurenteed to be right but will give you a approx height.

They're all different as you can imagine, but just for comparison my lad at 12 months was 14.2, out of a 15.2, at 22 months old he's almost 15.3, he should make 16.2 to 16.3.

Thank you Competition Diva I totally appreciate it a very vauge guestimate but your answer is very helpful.

I just wanted other peoples experiences as a comparrison. The rusty old dealer she passed through who had the colts one of whom must be responsible said her boys were approx 15.2 but then they weren't mature and Mum is about 15hh and she is now 7 so I guess thats her fully grown.

So I guess Henna is going to be around the 16hh mark and built like a tank she has a lot of bone - huge knees and hocks.

Do the legs thicken up anymore after a year and do they grow any longer? If they get much thicker she's going to have tree trunks! and I'd like then to get a little longer ;)

Piper is about 15hh at 8 months. His mum is 16hh and Dad about the same. We did the string test and it said 16.2, which would be nice so I hope he was listening!

Gosh he is a big boy :) sounds like he will make his 16.2 :D

Can I ask what stuff you do with him at the moment? Henna leads around the field, picks feet up loves being groomed and will wear anything and after this morning with Mrs up in the air I did wonder should I start taking Henna out for walks now while she is small (ish) and very compliant?

Sadly I haven't got a trailer or we would have done the loading practice.

I do absolutely nothing with Piper! He gets led in and out, has feet picked out about once a week and wears a rug at night, that is it. I just don't have time in winter, roll on spring and I will hopefully do a bit more.

WOW he's either done ALOT of early growth or I think you might have something over 16.2 in the making there (unless you're talking TB growth rates which are usually excellerated)!! Get your step ladder ready!!!!!
