Yearling off colour, ideas anyone?

One of the yearlings is just not as bright as I would expect, he also has a bit of a cough, not frequently but let them out in the manege today and he coughed a few times, then seemed to take quite a while to recover from exercise compared to the other one. They are out 24/7 with shelter and steamed hay, so don't think it would be a dust thing surely?


I am thinking of taking him to the vets after christmas for her to have a look but dont want to over react

Not much help but a horse on my yard was making some very queer coughs the other day. Maybe just cold weather taking the edge off him?
Hope he gets better soon!
 
most likely a bug/virus but has he been wormed for bots? bots im sure migrate through lung walls and get coughed up to ger swallowed again? x
 
can you tell me if it has a discharge from nostral and whether or not the mother had ev1 rhino virus injections throw out pregnantcy
