My yearling has had a traumatic weekend. Firstly on Saturday i found a tack in her foot in the cleft of her frog. I removed it and poulticed, she wasn't lame and i kept her in. On Sunday one of my horses was pts (her next door neighbour) the vet that came had a look at the foot and advised to poultice for a few more days. This is fine and she is sound on it. However yesterday she started to scour, very watery running down the wall. She hasn't got a temp and is eating ok but not clearing up her hay. She is in without her best mate, just a shetland for company in the next box, so a bit stressy. She also looks a bit down, and lots of tummy noises. What can i give her to dry her up or she i get the vet. She's been out today and is grazing.

Aw hun - what a wretched few days for you. So sorry about your horse.

Don't have any experience of yearlings but I just wanted to say if it was me and the filly was suddenly doing these 3 things: off her food, scouring quite badly, looking unhappy I'd have the vet out just in case something nasty was brewing that would knock her for 6. If she's still suffering Monday I'd get the vet out. If she's worse Sunday, I'd fork out for a weekend callout. Fingers crossed x
