My daughter (bless her heart, as my collarbone is currently broken!) helped prep the day before and lead my Quantock Hill Pony in his first ever show today. Yay! He is still very flooffy and only 10 months old. He behaved really well outside the ring, but nerves got to him and he spent most of the class nibbling his lead rein, nipping my daughter, striking out with his front leg, kicking out and planting when asked to move! How have you overcome these issues?! ;)

Please feel free to share your yearlings first show pics and stories as and when they happen.

Awww he's cute! No pics but both my yearlings showed me up big style at their first shows. One wouldn't trot and the other was high as a kite. All practice and experience tho :) They are very well rounded individuals now!

Are you talking to yourself in your second post op? Never shown any of my youngsters but just wanted to say how well he looks. Mine is a fluff monster too..but they need it in this weather.

I've a few photos of my yearling last year, will put up for you when I get home.

Lovely little chap. Never seen a Quantock Hill Pony before! You only ever see the usual welshies, foresters in m&m! Or maybe I have and just assumed it was a forester...

Well, as for misbehaving.. They are only babies! You can't expect them to stand still for a huge length of time. The ones I have seen standing stock still are usually scared stiff of the handler. I hate that.
