Do you owners of cobs ever use brushing boots or bandages?
Just so used to wrapping my TB's legs up in everything at all times i wondered what cob owners do?
Am thinking more of the full feathered type cob legs :)

Havent ever before until recently when I saw my friends cob trip over on the road, the damage was awful so have just invested in some knee boots, they're the only boots I wear though.

When i had my cob mare we put brushing boots on her for hunting, xc and sj generally. not for everyday hacking or schooling.

We did have hi viz brushing boots for the cob my Mum used to ride - uber uber hairy! - and we had to attach extra velcro to them so they would fit round his legs as his feathers were so thick!!!

when i bought my cob i was told he was prone to mud fever.
I bought all the meds in case but then got a tip from a very trusted older horse person - leave his legs well alone - ie the mud can act as a barrier!
I have just done that , i never rinse his legs, just brush any excess mud off when its dry - in the 2 winters ive had him - no problems at all!

My girly always wears polo bandages on her fronts, fetlock or brushing boots behind (depends which aren't in the wash), and knee boots when hacking.
She moves very close behind which is why I tend to use boots behind, and has done both front check ligaments now, which is why I bandage in front. I know it's said that bandages or boots don't actually aid support, but it's one of those psychological things with me where I at least feel like I am doing something to help protect her legs.
She also wears knee boots whenever she hacks as she is a tripper and has gone down a few times.

I have hi-viz brushing boots (huge ones :D) for Herc, but he's not worn them for years, and never needed them. They were just for hacking in the dark (and occasionally jumping). They were a right pain to get on over his feathers. lol

Never on my heavily feathered cob, his own feathers offer more protection than brushing boots and enclosing his legs in boots or wraps would probably be detremental due to over heating his legs.

For me, nothing, he manages not to kick himself.

However, I turn him out in Westropp Knee boots the ones that are like tendon boots but with a knee bit attached because his mates can't resist giving HIM a good kick every now and again.

If he's a feather cob inwouldnt bother with boots, I don't.
They have natural boots :D
If I have to I would bandage them for polocrosse and for the farrier so he has some chance of seeing his feet :D

I have a light cob and I treat her tendons same as all my others. She's a jumper and worth more than any of the others. She wears tendons boots for hacking and jumping or if the school is frozen.
