Had new pony 6 weeks. Had loan saddle for three weeks. Since having loan saddle so in three weeks pony has lost 11kgs, 2 cms off her girth and gone down a fit in her saddle! Saddler came today with new saddle I had ordered and I saw it for a second before it went back to get adjusted. :(

Boo hoo!

Saddler said she is looking great tho and she saw a difference in her top line too which is great because I am only schooling on hacks!

I'm in the same boat at the moment. Shaunas new pony came with a saddle, but it doesnt really fit properly. Foam riser pad is doing a temp job, but need to get a new sadle that fits. Was talking to a saddlefitter during the week, she was going to come out in about 2 weeks to fit a saddle, but in hind sight, pony needed a worm dose,(which he has had), and a bit of tlc feed wise, and as was pointed out to me during the week, will change his shape when that happens. So should I, (a), get saddle fitter out now get a saddle that fits now, and trade it for one that fits when pony has changed shape, or (b), wait, use riser pad, and just get one saddle in a while that should fit for a long time.
Any suggestions????

thanks FfionWinnie, thats what i am thinking at the minute, as if i get saddle that fits now, it will prob depreciate in the next few months. Dont want to skimp on pony, but no point in buying a saddle to have to replace it again in a little while. Thanks. xx

Depends what you are going for as well. I wanted a specific type of saddle to fit me a tall rider on a small pony. There wasn't anything available off the peg. If you bought a decent second hand one and then changed it with the same saddler you would hope they would do you a good deal.

I am happy with this company I am using. Sending it back is no problem and no extra cost.
