I can't compete with some of the success enjoyed by some of our HHOers who put in amazing performances but just a quick update on Rhiannon's second day at Addington's BD Regionals.

In the Elementary Open I was dismayed to see that we faced the same judge that had not done us so well in the Medium Freestyle, although we did manage a creditable 6th place.
I was determined to show her that we could do better and I was also pleased to see a friendly writer......FMC....yay!

I suppose in hindsight I should have attacked the test a bit more but Rhiannon felt really soft and that has been a bit of a problem recently, I left her alone. It felt a nice flowing test but 'nice' tests don't necessarilly win big prizes!
We finished 15th of the 40 starters.
Then in the Medium I tried to up the anti a bit, felt it was going fairly well until the extended canter. I didn't think it was quite enough so pushed the turbo button and then had a disagreement about stopping at the other end!!!

Ooops!
Still I felt that aside, it was one of her better mediums and was very disappointed to finish on just 60% and way down the line.

However, on reflection, she only did her first Medium test in October, had about a month off due to a virus over Christmas, and suffered saddle and back problems too. Considering that quite a lot of the competitors have already started at PSG, I think she actually aquitted herself very well in what was probably only her 6th or 7th test at that level.

Law very kindly took a few snaps during the Freestyle classes on Thursday.....

Well done!

Gosh she is a super looking beastie and as usual you are being far too modest! I really shoudl make the effort to come and see you, esp. as I don't work weekends anymore - not like last year.....

Hugs to Goofy (my new name for Spider after the water butt video - LMAO!)

Thanks for all your lovely comments.

They mean so much to me as we cad a mahoosive breakdown in self belief recently but I think I'm on the way back up again......doh!

I am very fortunate to have such a lovely mare on loan. In fact all three of my 'proper' dressage horses have been loans, so I consider myself very lucky.
Spider will be the first one of my very own.

I do not think you should self-doubt yourself anymore!!!!!! and as for Spider.....what a Gorg. horse he is.......you will have lots of fun on him I am sure and many red rossettes!!!!!!

Well done - to get to the Regionals is wonderful and to do so well after a confidence crisis and all the challenges you both have faced is extra special. Love the photos.

My friend qualified in FSM elem too, despite challenges in her way - she was not sure she could even go to Addington but is v glad she went and we are studying the best route to take to Hartpury!
