Seriously powerful looking dogs. I don’t know much about the different varieties. Are any bred responsibly?
 
They seriously have to think about these dogs being added to the banned list, there seems to be increased involvement of these dogs in a lot of attacks. 😢

I don’t think they should be banned, it’ll just result in a new name for the breed. Murican Roid Dog or something.

Instead the police should be prosecuting heavily whenever they can. Banned from breeding, banned from owning, dogs removed, pay 5k in a week or PTS. Take reports of backyard breeding seriously. No second chances, prosecute hard the first time the dog is out of control, don’t wait for it to kill. But they won’t do that. It’s easier to placate the populace with toothless (excuse the pun) legislation.

Having seen the cctv of ‘beast’, the dog that attacked and killed a kid in South Wales, it was clearly dangerous. Owners thought it was funny. There were no consequences to the dog doing what it did both on the cctv and to that poor kid, and what’s happened to the owners won’t matter a jot to their existence. Shrug. Next offence please.
 
I can think of no good reason to own one - they are not bred to be pets nor are they good with kids or other dogs by the look of things. If you want a guard dog there are plenty of purpose bred dogs available some of whom double as companions for people as well. The type of person who wants to own one, as far as I can see, is a certain type of ignorant (usually male) criminally minded person who shouldn't be in charge of anything never mind a sentient dangerous animal.

All the BSL has achieved is bog-standard friendly dogs getting put to sleep and new types being bred for the same purposes as the old ‘bad dogs’.

If your beloved BSL worked, we wouldn’t be in this position in the first place.
 
Anyhow, iirc Manchester - or at least the NW - has had the highest increase in gun/knife crime and county line drug dealing in the country. The breeding and dealing of dangerous dogs - 17 dogs is a business not a couple bad owners - is just one arm of an increase in crime that needs addressing holistically.
