Just took Orla to this one.
Dressage.
I was very pleased with her test, she is lovely to ride in a dressage arena (when all you're used to is horses with no steering).. we got a 32.1 which i guess was ok, but compaired to some of the others i felt was a little harsh, oh well, beauty is in the eye of the behilder etc.
ShowJumping.
Now i know i go on about the uselessness of Orlas jumping, but i still can't quite believe that she can actually leave the ground, it wasn't that long ago that she would happily trot through a SJ with no thought to lifting her legs at all!! This was however her third intro, so i guess i'm starting to get used to the fact that she might of worked out how to jump!
She was star, and only had one down.. i still felt i had to ride a little like a jockey riding a finish into each fence tho
The one she had down was the second half of the double, she jumped in thinking all along that she would go past the second part (can see in pic taking off for first part that she's diving right), so with a little bit of a surpentine in the middle, we jumped the second part, but had it down.. all a learning curve, of which she is doing alot lately!!
CrossCountry.
I really think she loves this bit, after standing fast asleep in her trailer, she saw me put my colours on, woke up and wickered to me
haha.. in her first event she had 15 time faults, in her second she had 9 time faults, so this time i thought it was time to stop nannying her so much, and kick on.. bless her, she grew to the challenge, and came home clear within the time!!
So she finished in 9th place!
Owner was thrilled
as am i, and without wishing to come across as bigheaded, am rather proud of myself for getting her round
haha
Also saw loads of HHO people.. walked the course with Boss and Bruns
somehow started talking to Millbrook Song at the score board, when she somehow worked out who i was, and said hi
and then also met Siennamum on the way back from the prize giving (well done btw) and i hope you got home all right??
All in all, a pretty good [nearly] end to the season me thinks
