For those that use equimins (pellets) are they palatable? I'm thinking of swapping my handful of pony nuts out for this instead. I currently feed a handful of honeychop lite and healthy and a handful of pony nuts just to get her general vit and min supplement and mag ox in (plus agnus castus and nettle powder in summer). Wondering if I should swap the pony nuts and vits for equimins instead? She's not fussy at all so would be surprised if she didn't eat it but wonder if other horses are having it with something tasty rather than bland oat straw.
Mine refuses to eat them, I tricked her into eating the pellets from my hand the first time but that was a one and done thing ?. They smell quite strong, almost banana-y, so I guess the taste is similar.

Probably not a popular answer but my horse does better on a pelleted balancer - his feet actually deteriorated when on FP. On the advice of an independent nutritionist I've swapped him to Baileys Performance Balancer and this seems to work well for him.

I've seen equine podiatrists recommending Spilliers Lite and Lean for fussy horses. It's probably got a bit of molasses in but I would imagine the amount is small enough overall that it's worth it if your horse will actually eat it.
Thanks, I’ll see if I can get hold of a taster bag to see if the fussy sod will eat them.

I’ve found a bag of PE in the spare room where all my spare horse stuff lives so she’ll have to eat that for now :p.

I feed mine Spillers Lite+Lean and she does really well on it. We have tried other balancers (including Pro Earth and Thunderbrooks) but she shines with health on Spillers and has good hooves.

If you have problem hooves, my YO has had good results with Feedmark's Hardy Hoof supplement. I confess that I rather like Feedmark because their supplements seem to work and you can get samples from them (I have a very fussy mare).

Mine is basically a vacuum cleaner on four hooves. When I tried Equimins on her I gave her them first in a bucket- she refused. I tried hand feeding them-she took them from my hand, chewed once and then spit them right out and looked at me as if I've tried to poison her ?

The only way (well, from my experience anyway) is to literally add less than a tenth of a dose (of the Equimins pellets) the first day, hidden in whatever yummy food they like, if they eat that increase to 1/5 of a dose the next day and so on.
My cob was fine with the Equimins powder but wasn't keen on the pellets, I got him up to 50% powder 50% pellets but decided to just stick with the powder and used it up 50/50 then back to 100% powder

if you ring them they will send you a sample of the pellets. I use their powder as it gives good results but I give them damp feed anyway so I have a mixer for it.
