About 3 weeks ago I noticed a small rub on the front of his pastern the day after I put new boots on him.
I fastened the boots lower to avoid the area for the next week, but went back to his old boots after his last trim.
Since then it has grown (and grown), and it is now protruding from his foot by about 1/2cm or more, and is approx. an inch across. The skin itself is a bit scaley (to go with his scaley periople - hope I spelled that right this time
)
The mass is slightly warm, but is fairly soft and giving, and isn't very tender.
If it was an overly dramatic inflammatory reaction to the boots/pressure/rub, I would expect it to be sore, but it isn't really.
