If they cant look after the poor pony and want to dump it, at least dump the poor thing in someones stable yard or just give it to someone who cares and could look after it.
Yes I'm as skint as a big bag of skint things but if someone came up to me and said I've got a young horse I cant look after do you want it for nothing, I'd say yes, make it better then find a good home for it not slit its throat and dump it at the side of the road.
The owners behaviour is barbaric!

I go past that sight almost everyday. Used to live over there until we moved but we still go over there alot. People living near by must be in shock as things like that dont happen although there are some very dodgy horse people in the surrounding area...
Poor little thing though. If you can't look after it dont kill it and if possible dont breed it in the first place!
