.... and another learning curve!
Was in Section F yesterday.....
Totally and utterly exploded in fine style in the dressage warm up due to the playground full of screaming children! was very close to tipping me out of the side door on several occasions with her ridiculous bronchs and leaps and twists! Managed to hold it together in the test but the judge didnt like her at all and we got 38.5 for it which was pretty disappointing really as it felt like a 35 test
SJ really nicely for 1 down - gave me a fab round and felt fluent and jumping a boldly as ever which was nice
Onto the XC - 6.05pm
sun was really low and the first two fences you could barely see the sun was directly in line with them - Hattie set off really nicely and confidently, got to fence 5 which was a step down, one stride to a hanging log - she went "ok i do steps down" landed very short and then failed to make the one stride to the log and breasted it
really annoying as if id kicked on she would have been fine - youth and inexperience yet again
*kicks self hard*. Then she absolutely flew - felt like i was riding a mare who had evented all her life
she just galloped and jumped and took everything in her stride - corner, cart, palisade with ditch, trakhener (which she jumped HUGE - gave is miles to spare
) so so pleased with her
So yet again another bl**dy rider error, but my gosh Hattie is getting better and better with every run, the bigger and more solid the fence is the better she jumps
So S of E here we come - this time with a rider that WILL be 110% focused 110% of the time!
