Yet another sad day RIP Mona......

We tragically lost our special mare Mona yesterday after foaling the vet believes baby tore her uterus on turning and there was nothing we could do. After long discussions we have decided to hand rear him please send all your good vibes his way!!!!

Mona has left behind our special baby boy who is by F S Dont Worry please everyone keep their fingers crossed for him as he at present seems fit and healthy and is nursing well on the bottle........

That is so so sad. That 1st photo made me cry. I hope the wee guy does well and does his mummy proud. Lots of hugs to you and him. xxxxx
 
So sorry for your loss. We have successfully handreared with no obvious behaviourable problems, so feel free to contact us. The main thing is to get a stepmum so that foal is still kept in line. Good luck.

Many thanks, im hoping our mares will accept him in the herd, most are very good mums and end up with "extra" foals to their own, hoping today his IgG test comes back good and I can stop worrying about that side, of which I am counting down the hours!!! May well be in touch so thank you for that. Our stud are a fantastic support also having raised a few orphan foals so im hopeful he is strong and will cope.

How very sorry to read of your loss,every time i read these tragic stories i well up. Hoping your boy stays fit and healthy and has many more years ahead of him.

So sorry P, tragic news. Hope little one does well. Echo the getting him company of his own, it helps so much and made a huge difference when Harry came to join Freddy a week later, I'm sure that's why they grew up to be not as pushy as some orphans get because they didn't have only me to play with! Any help you need just holler but I'm sure it would be like teaching you to suck eggs! Hugs to everyone but at least you have a lovely reminder of Mona.
 
How heart wrenching - RIP Mona! I absolutely salute you in your efforts to hand raise your beautiful foaly! Best wishes, hope it all works out well! x

Oh Dear. I have shed more tears on the forum this year than ever before - what a horrid year for breeders. You mare was beautiful and she has left you a precious gift. By the looks of the pictures your mare and foal could not have been in safer, kinder hands. Sending you positive vibes for you on your loss and your darling new foal xx:)
 
I'm so sorry .....I can't think of anything worse, it is my nightmare.

I don't often coming in here, but have just looked at your post. That first photo of your lovely girl and her baby has to be one of the most tragic I've ever seen on HHO. Such a beautiful girl. I am so very sorry to hear about her. Lots of hugs and best wishes for her baby's progress. xxx
