Yet another sad day RIP Mona......

I'm so sorry to read this -there have been so many tragedies with breeding this year. What a lovely mother Mona looked.Hugs and all best wishes to you and your lovely foal

So very sorry for your loss she looked a lovely mare. I can understand you hand rearing him as you won,t want him out of your sight. When your ready I,m sure you will find him a suitable friend. Good luck with your lovely boy.

I used to work at a stud and the same happened there. The mare had torn as the foal was born, nothing could be done to save her. Foal was hand reared on the bottle then quickly went onto the bucket. We borrowed a small gelding pony as a companion for him, he was much better for having a friend. So sorry for your loss, hope your little man is ok.x

I am so sorry to hear this. What heart breaking news. I hope your little chap continues to grow and thrive and finds a new companion / foster Mum soon bless him. He looks like he needs someone to cuddle up to.

Good luck and hugs / vibes from me.

How sad, it brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful mare she was and what a lovely boy she has left you with. All the best with him x

A huge thank you for all your kind words and support!!! My huge relief and first hurdle today was he was IgG tested and he had more than positive results!!!!

Had him out in the school for a little while tonight and OMG he is definately one of the best foals we have been blessed with Mona has done us proud and hopefully we will continue from strength to strength, he is eating well, bright as a button and galloping round his stable inbetween crashing out totally asleep. He is a very special boy in every way!!!

We have three quite new born foals all on very tolerant mums so we will get him out with them as our second hurdle to cross then of course he will have plenty of friends to play with and with another 4 mares to foal he should be ok!!! By the time they foal I think he should have learnt the ropes about other mummies!!!!!

He is still un named and we also safely foaled down another mare last night so havent really had much time to think about anything!!! OH will sit up tonight so I can get some sleep as been up since 2am Sunday morning plus every night last week watching the girls on camera from 2am onwards!!!!

Time to just have moment for me to catch up!!!!

This is really sad! Sending loads vibes your way! I'm glad the IgG test was really positive. RIP Mona, she was such a lovely mare. Those pictures are so sweet, he looks lovely :)

Was very sad when I read your post but now it seems much happier news all round and I think your boy is just lovely. You have done a brilliant job and I hope that the OH gets that much needed sleep.

RIP to your lovely mare. Good luck to you!

How sad you've lost your lovely mare, Mona I really feel for you :( She's left you with a beautiful colt and I look forward to hearing of his progress over the coming months/years. Good luck

So sad to read this - what a dreadful loss for you and I do hope all goes well from now on, for such a special foal x

:( Horribly sad time for you, I am so sorry to read this.
I hope your little colt continues to thrive for you.

Best of luck with him, and your other foalings.

so sorry for you, this is the reason it took me so long to agree with myself that putting my newly retires event mare in foal was a good idea. So glad your colt is ok.

My first mare i foaled did the same, our colt tore her rectum and she prolapsed. He was fosted to a lovely mare in devon whos mare was born with no eyes, the world can be such a strange place. we called him 'aregona's gift' after his mother.

best of luck with him, hugs to you all and i send you the best wishes xx

Thank you yet again for all your fantastic support, Mona has blessed us with three fantastic foals I am so proud and yet so in awe of everything she has done for us......
