What do you think is going on here, its not easy to see, but at about 12 o'clock there looks like there is a bruise, actually just to the left! it originally extended all the way around the hoof in both front feet, but think this is all that's left.
Also what part of the hoof is actually bruised.
Does it look like he has some false sole?

couple more pictures in case it helps, but you can't see the bruising.

wow 103 views and no replies, I must ask difficult questions, or ones so stupid nobody bothers answering lol

These are interesting hooves - hopefully one of the pro trimmers will have a look.

To me it looks like the hooves have/have had laminitis. There is blood serum in the white line at the toe, though this may be historical, but it looks also like there is some lamellar wedge present as well.

How long has the horse been barefoot?

Barefoot in front for about 8 weeks, with a long and complicated history, he has never had a previous history of laminitis, but I think recently we have had some. Think he may have IR.

yep, Looks like blood (bruise) in the white line. Possibly caused by laminitis. Historical. There is some as yet to exfoliate sole there (I'm not sure what you would define as false sole).

Assuming the horse is sound, I wouldn't worry too much about either.

Mine is suspected IR and had a bout of LGL about 12 weeks ago, he had the exact same bruise appear on his front feet, one side was worse than the other.
