After what seems like decades of walking out hounds, biking out hounds and trying to muster up hunt horses, blankney start cubbing. OH has very kindly given me pick of his as lincs fens and dykes are not known hunt country for me and my hedge hunting coloured. Very excited to be going with a decent hunt- I was starting to panic about this cubbing season! Who else is off cubbing tomorrow?

We started on Saturday, though I won't be able to do a full season due to other commitments.

VERY glad my big bouncy grey behaved himself - really looking forward hunting proper now. :D

oh wow C_C that sounds ace, where abouts were you with mink hounds? I've always said I would love to see some working because I've never had the chance! I've not been with the Blankney before as I have only been with OH a few months but been with hounds all summer and am really itching to watch them working now :)

:( I am gutted not to be hunting this year, especially as I got out a grand total of twice last year and the second time was the day all Hen's problems began :(

Hope everyone has a fab season  Think of me when your bombing across a field somewhere

We were planning to go on Saturday but they are out at 6.30am and there is no way we can get two children and ponies ready and to the meet on time, we will have to wait until they go out at a more reasonable time :(

Rosie has a confession to make. There may not have been many out deep in our fen country this morning, but word travels fast ....
:) Yes I do, as amazing as Jerry boy was at looking after me and being a star, I couldn't quite sit the two legged walk he decided to strut, and ended on my arse! Soft landing and J obviously wanted to be going at a faster pace so OH was kind enough to swap with me later on and give me the wonderful Will to look after me :) I had such a good day out though, I really loved how close up the field stays, its such a welcome change. Forgive my ignorance, were you out? Sorry!

No, I wasn't out - we thought our horses needed another week first. As I said word travels fast: I heard your horse just stood there and waited for you to get back on. Hopefully out Monday.

oh he was wonderful and perfectly well behaved afterwards, its nice to be on something that doesn't pull for a change! Don't know whether I will be out Monday, I'm meant to be moving stuff back down to uni next week, but will no doubt see you out soon :)
