Well... after several years of inactivity with my own lovely horse, (due to daughters competition schedule plus studying for work related exams) I have given myself a kick up the butt and booked myself onto a residential weekend course at Stockland Lovell - has anyone been on one of these - are they any good?? (hope so - its too late to back out now!!)
I am now getting a serious case of the jitters...

. Its been years since we did anything - I think its going to be a shock to us both - anyone any suggestions on how to prepare for it??

I have been three times to Stockland Lovell camps, not organised by them but by my old PC and then twice with my RC. I can honestly say it's the BEST fun EVER! It's a lovely place to go for a camp, facilities are really fab. Obviously as it's organised by SL it may be slightly different to the ones I went to but I imagine the general jist is the same. The instructors there are absolutely stellar as well - if it wasn't so far to go I'd be boxing my horses down for regular lessons with Helen Griffiths. Pepsi Kholer is the most inspirational jumping trainer I have met (and I wasn't even riding, I just walked round with some XC lessons!)
You will have a FAB time

Oh you lucky thing you will have a lovely time. As Silmarillion I went with a RC, so organisation might be slightly different, but the facilities are great and the food is fantastic, much tea and cake to be had - but hey all guilt free as you'll be doing sooo much riding!! Have fun

Oh gosh I can't believe I didn't mention - the food is FANTASTIC, including the cake! Full English for breakfast, jacket potatoes and salad for lunch, tea and cakes at 4pm, and a nice big dinner later. Tea and coffee is always available which is fab too, we all ended up spending most of our time either riding or chatting over a cup of coffee in the kitchen! Apart from the first evening when I got quite drunk and ended up last to bed because I was talking to the local "mad horse woman" about the finer points of dressage
