I bred my own homebred foal this year and as a companion for him at weaning I bought a welsh section d cross. He hadn't had even nearly the same handling my homebred had had. He was very easy once caught but was a bit of a nightmare to actually catch!! Well I've had him for over 3 weeks now and he's gained alot of confidence from my homebred seeing the affection he gets!
Well today I was bent over looking at my homebreds leg and welshie came over and started to nuzzle my back and then my hair! I turned around and he didn't walk off, I was even able to rub his head between his eyes, rub around his ears and pat his neck etc, without holding him or him walking off! I'm so pleased with how he's coming around, he's such a sweetie!! I seem at the moment to have 2 very well behaved, soppy colts!!!!
