I lost most of last summer due to farrier not turning up horse having abscess and so finally got new farrier in Oct just when the clocks changed, hence not a lot of riding apart from weekends, but new farrier is brill.
Beginning of this year my horse started to buck and kick so knew there must be something wrong, had 2 chiros out both said pelvis was out and a sore spot just behind withers, horse was ok to ride after 2nd chiro for a few days but then started to buck and kick again, couldn't figure out if was still in pain or just being naughty. Had vet to check out cause chiros only come over every couple of months, vet thought he still had a sore spot behind withers and probably needs saddle checking. Saddler not due over till May (it can be hell living on an island).
Anyway new where sore spot was so have been checking it out of last couple of weeks and noticed he was not flinching so took plunge today and rode him in friends sand school. He was a rather large s**t at times but only in the same place, so it seems my horse has been playing games with me trying to get out of work, he is going to regret that one. Still need to get saddle checked (only have dressage saddle at mo) and actually think I do need a new one and am looking at the thorowgood hw gp.
But am so happy that it appears my horse is just playing me up and not actually in pain. Plus have organised lessons so hopefully we can actually move forward.
Apolos for such long post but am just so relieved I finally had help to work a few things out.
