YO announces Bonfire Party WITH FIREWORKS???

The house next to the yard had a display a couple of years ago - one went astray and went into one of the stables. Thank god it was empty and they're all made of concrete

We've had fireworks parties at the yard where I used to keep the horses, and we never had a problem with the horses at all. Admittidly they were the 'other' end off the fields, but still. . .

TBH, it actually wouldnt bother me. I, of course, would worry about the fire hazard, but the risk IMO is mininal if all precuations are taken.

From a fire aspect i wouldn't be happy but i think sometimes we under estimate our horses intelligence.
Most horses do get used to the noise after the intitial few bangs and go back to doing whatever it was they were doing.

I keep mine at home and as we are in the country they hear allsorts of shooting and banging. My nervy TB is fine with it all now.

My old yard that was in a village had their own - but it made no more difference than those already going off with the neighbours and at least you knew when they were going off and could check the horses during/after. None of the horses at that yard were bothered. Current horse is v bothered and current yard also has bonfire party - though haven't heard if they are this year - I think it's mad as in middle of nowhere so otherwise we would avoid to much problem - but not much can do about it other than go and then go up to the yard when they start going off and make sure he doesn't hurt himself - and we're not talking small fireworks!! Problem is they wouldn't hear any arguement against cause out of 30 horses there are only a couple that are bothered.
