Yogi B clinic today

Up at the crack of dawn and bathing him yesterday was a waste of time ,I think he found every poo in his stable to lay in and more.We have no electric at our stables but managed in the dark to get him ready and off we set.
Lovely empty roads so made good time until we got lost but found the venue in time and tacked up .There were 5 in the group and off they went.
They warmed up and were then given an instruction 'over this log in trot ,on to the tiger trap , go straight until you are in the shadows then turn and come back over the roll top' off they went one by one ,all finding it straight forward ,but then 3 were put in the 'sinbin' including my daughter . Why? ,they had turned before the shadow ,good start ,listen and follow instructions .
They did some more straight forward fences , then on to drops and steps down and up ,told how to ride them and to keep lower leg forward. Then on to ditches [ Penfold made a fuss of first one ,but got over it quickly] Then on to coffins, which we have to call rail ,ditch, rail now ,skinneys ,trakeners, bigger steps and fially on to water and then take your own line.
It was great fun ,Yogi was clear and welcoming. At the end he said that if they see him at an event and want advice or help ,even if he is with someone to come up ,remind him of today and he would try to help and advize.
The weather and going were perfect and everyone enjoyed it .I know they are only grassroutes championship placed horses but they have had to come in first 4 at an intro or prenovice event and then in top few at regional and then get placed at championship ,so quite a long journey tleading to todays prize.
The pro photographer took pics and you get sent one free and can buy others off website .We videoed but it doesn't connect to pc and my camera battery went on stick so only got these phone pics but will put pro one on later when I get it if allowed.

Trying to think which one she was, daughter will know. It was amazing and they all went very well ,one lady was quite nervous as she had only done intro but she had to do it all and they did brilliant, one fell at the corner but was soon back on and jumping it again brilliantly

She was on a big, dark bay horse called Leo - has a funny little strip on his forehead. Rider had a blue/burgendy back protactor and probably a Greenhill Equitation jacket on top? He was the intro national champ winner?

So pleased it went well and met expectations. Sounds as if Claire had great fun and how decent of Yogi to tell them all he'd make time for them on other occasions. Big

Sounds brilliant!

I remember Yogi being VERY strict on details when he did a training slot at the BD Trainers forum. If he said the rider was to put the horse over the middle of the pole, he meant the MIDDLE and wasn't happy until they did! But there's no point in him giving instruction and the rider's only half following it, I guess! Still he was very generous with the praise when deserved.
He seemed a very nice man and the fact that he said that about approaching him at other events backs that up.

Penfold looks lovely, you must be very proud of the pair of them, having bred them both!
