Yogi Briesner? Any experiences?

I did a clinic a couple of years ago with him at Hartpury - it was really, really good and I would do more with him in a shot if I had the opportunity. He was pretty precise - made me jump one line again because he said it wasn't quite as good as he thought I could do it and picked out the stripe of pole I had to jump over. Ended up jumping quite a decent SJ track, I guess about 1.15 and feeling confident about it.

I think he's really good at being a fresh pair of eyes who polishes the performance - it isn't often that the first session with a new trainer is productive (in my experience - usually it takes 2 or 3 lessons for me to make my mind up about whether someone is good or not as they need time to assess you), but this one was.

Only had private session with him just prior to him becomming CDE.
Best session I've had. He even got on my lad (without hat) and showed me the change he wanted in his way of going. Got our first BE placing (novice) the following weekend so must have had a positive effect :D

Rosie had a p2p lesson with him at Newmarket before she started racing (her Dad had won it as a prize when he won the p2p Nov rider champs). She loved it and when her Dad asked him what he thought of R he just said 'I like what I see' - very enigmatic! Sorry, probably not very helpful or relevant to your question.

Great for me and my show jumping demons even tho my first experience with him wasnt brilliant (was in a group). After that I had private lessons with him and he made a real difference.

I did a pony club group lesson with him at the beginning of the year, he was fantastic. very precise.. it was "canter NOW" and if you weren't cantering then, he was like "i said now?" But it was great. Although he was quite strict, he made it fun. And i wouldn't worry about being the oldest one, we were a group of 17/18 yo's with a 30yo instructor in our group. It was great. He didnt pick on anyone in particular, but he doesnt take any nonsense!

Go for it, he's an amazing trainer!

I want another lesson with him ;):p

Have clinic with him in a couple of weeks, only space was in the 1.20 group so going to have to up my game a little, feeling little nervous. Hope yours goes well:D

Oh, he is just as good in relation to racing as eventing. If you have the chance of his expertise go for it........... We took a useless young racehorse to him as it kept taking us through the wings:eek: & he was fabulous with it & a real education to watch.

I gave my ex-OH a one off lesson with him (he was a P2P jockey) & he really enjoyed it AND it improved him.

I am absolutely CERTAIN that Yogi will not care 1 jot if you are 16 or 66 he will help you just the same:D

If you wouldnt mind asking! I'm not sure what Henry would think to them - probably sod off I am not jumping anything that big/wide, after looking at the size of the NH ones at Market Rasen (although I know P2P are slightly smaller!)

Fences at P2P's are regulation chase fences, although some are 'open to poetic license' with drops and brush etc. Standard size is 4ft6 (1.37m in new money!), they jump lovely you don't notice them unless there's a drop on landing (or you fall off!).
Will ask and report back.

Rightio wench! The course is really basic, starting off with working in the indoor, and is suitable for anyone who can ride!!
So I will be taking Emerald (providing I can have one blast up a set of schooling fences first!), who hasn't pointed before.
If you send your application in now they send out invoices nearer the time for confirmation.

Well I wouldnt say I could ride particulary well... fences over 3ft bring me and Henry out in a cold sweat - do most TB's tend to jump the chase fences well?

I loved the lessons I've done with him, including P2P lessons. He has also been up to the race yard where I work several times to jump train some of the horses and he is a true master at improving a horse's jump. Love him!
