York Auction on Friday,anyone going?

I would love to go, but have to work :(

I have never been but its just up the road from me and they seem to have a nice mix there. Always wondered, do you have to take your own transport on the day or do transporters 'hang around' for business?

you can normally bargain a cheap lift home with someone. if not you can leave whatever you buy there over night and go back and pick it up the next day

YD - since you are a self-confessed charity case lover :D it wasn't you who bid on a very sorry looking horse about 16hh, very thin, terrible feet, rainscald and mudrash known as Bob in december '09 he sold for 280 guineas? (He crib bit in the stall too) There were some lovely looking people (I don't mean the looked lovely literally - just that they looked like kind, nice people!) bidding against me, I keep trying to find them to say he had a nice home lol.

bay? i was there and did bid on a few ???

yes he was bay, number 35. Had a young lad bouncing all over him in that trial arena and looked dead as a nail, just didn't care. He'd not be like that now lol. I'll find a pic from back then but he had been fed up for a month or so and clipped:

he was sold as a total novice ... lol he defo wasnt!
he was very forward and had no manners at all and was dangerous on the road (would just try ditch you or throw you on cars etc)
i re-schooled him and then i found him a loving home with one of my friends

Yeah I remeber him, he looked very much like a grey mare I had! Glad he got a good home! In fact - he sounds very much like Bob - though Bob just will not hack out!

xx

he still might not hack out alone but when i had him i had got him to the point where he could ride out with one other horse/pony without problems (as long as he followed) if he was in front you might has well have been ridding a roller-coaster
lol

but he is happy now and is alot fatter than he was when he came home from york so i am happy and he is on the promise that if she ever decides she cant cope or doesnt want him anymore i will buy him back no questions asked. just to make sure he doesnt end up back in the dealers yard xx

was nearly out bid for him by another woman and after the auction she came and found me and offered me £550 for him, but i said no. i think she bought a coloured after that lol
