hi
i am wanting to do my first BE next year. i can't do an 80 (T) as horse has points from previous rider. I've done a couple of UA ODE at Epworth and course was nice and flat, not very technical so a nice introduction to eventing for me.

Where would people recommend for my first BE given i'm going straight in at 90 (other than epworth). A nice inviting ,flatish course would be preferred. track for building rider confidence (horses confidence is fine :) ) local events to me are:

Bishop Burton
Askam Bryan
Skipton
Frickley
Northallerton
Think that's it...........

Any recommendations, reviews, pros and cons, gratefully received.

Thank you :)

My vote would be Northallerton. Definitely the flattest, very friendly and inviting.

Askham is nice but usually only runs in October, and is often cancelled.

Skipton and Bishop are hilly, Bishop especially so.(but a lovely course though, one of my favourite)

Frickley doesn't have have huge hills, but is often quite technical and not really a first timer course.

Don't discount Richmond - a couple of gentle slopes, but a lovely galloping course once you are out of the first couple of fields - another favourite.

Good luck and enjoy!
