Very disapointed to see this today it was going to be my birthday day out treat :(

Shows the times are bad when we cant get enough sponsorship to run events like this.

Hopefully we will get our £44 tickets refunded otherwise I will be even more unhappy!

Sulk!

You are joking, where have you found this out?!!
Will be totally gutted, was looking forward to this loads - my birthday treat too! Assume tickets will be refunded?

That's a shame and its not nice to say this but I thought they'd struggle. I for one couldn't justify paying the advance ticket prices on the promise that it would be good, even though it would have been right on my doorstep. Experience with the previous British Open at the Arena showed that a show at that price level at that time of year did not make money, especially when all the locals were well aware that tickets for the Open were given away on the door in the first year, making the ones who had paid to get in a little annoyed and no-one else was daft enough to pay if you could get a free ticket. Combine that past experience with the current economic climate of everywhere struggling with sponsorship, etc... I hope that no-one involved loses out as a result of this experience.

its on the homepage of their website - it says to ring the box office if you have a ticket, presumably for a refund !

Looks like we will have to trek 2 1/2 hours to Badminton instead!

PS Just rang the box office and they said they havnt officially been informed that its been cancelled yet and they cant issue refunds untill they know officially.

She said the call she took before me was a lady asking for a refund and that was the first they had heard of it being cancelled!

BYR - that was me!!

The advice I recieved from them was to call back in a day or two when they would have an official line as to what is going on.

Reading what is on the website I have to say I think it is appalling that they have announced it on the website without informing the arena, sponsers, trade stands or even BS first!!

Such a shame - I thought the schedule looked brilliant and it was great value to see high level sj! (comparing it to our annual trip to olympia anyway!).
Hope they pull it out of the bag, have been looking forwards to it loads!
Shan't bother with badminton instead (hate not being able to see all the action for all the heads in the way!), so shall have to hunt around for another weekend away!

Can't believe this! Just rang the arena and the woman was only just being given the info that it was cancelled whilst I was on the phone, no explanations yet though but she said that everyone will be contacted by email about getting full refunds.
What a bummer :(
