Yorkshire meet up- year 2?

Me and Chickeninabun have been discussing doing another meet up like the one last year :)

Will probably be end of September/Start of October

Thought I would stick a thread on here to see if anyone wants to go? And does anyone have any ideas as to where to meet? We did Escrick park last year which is an option to go to again this year but other suggestions are welcome :D
 
wow so let me get this right...you all meet up and go for a ride? that would be lovely but i dont have transport :(

Sunday's are best for me. The 30th Sept is ok with me but it's a local couple of local riding club shows on that day, so that might put a few peeps off, but maybe not. Don't think RubysGold can do the following weekend so maybe the one after than, the 14th?

GG centre is good for schooling, but not a great ride out other wise - IMO the XC is quite run down these days, and fairly basic.

escrick is quite a trek for me, but probably ok if we're there for the day!

what about seeing if Northallerton EC will let us hire the course for an afternoon or something? that's quite a big lot of ground to tootle round and do some XC for those who want to jump, and there's facilities there for people who's rather school over SJ fences or on the flat.

or there's Thornton Lodge near Easingwold which is a UK chasers course with lovely hacking around it, and lovely people who run it.

or there's the moors (which I know like the back of my hand) if we find somewhere decent/easy to park (and I'm pretty sure I can arrange something :D), and just go for a nice picnic ride? plus that would only cost us fuel and picnic!

Excellant idea, I've never been to either of the above so it would be nice to experience some new pasture!
 
ohh i would love to do this didnt come last year as didnt have a horse but got my big girl now so would love to come if no one minds holding our hands babies only 4. :) I can do either dates, always castle howard aswell for people just no jumping for anyone who wants to jump.. thornton lodge is good aswell :) xx
 
I'm still up for the Fangfoss pleasure ride in mid-September if anyone else is? Looking for safe slow company to do the eight mile route as it will be our first attempt at something like that! My horse can be a moderately good babysitter ...

I would be up for that - not entered yet as no one on yard is able to go, but if there's someone I can ride with that would be great:D
 
Escrick would be good for me :)
Hopefully next year we'll do a fair bit more travelling around and he'll be used to it enough for me to brave going further out :)
 
I can't make 30th (I could do the saturday 29th) as have no transport (OH playing golf in a comp!) for that date but any date after then and I am free to come. I'd love to meet up at Escrick again, about 45mins from me, and OH would prob come again. There are two happy hackers from my yard (who like jumping the odd log) who might bring their young horses too.
 
Hi guys
My 4yo has gone quite backwards and Ive had to turn him away for Winter :/
So Im not going to be able to come/organise this :( You guys feel free to continue with it, will try to sort something out next summer if you guys are up for it then :)
