you are not going to believe this!!!!!!!!!

i was at the yard today and i had ridden the mare and all was well. So then i was going to ride the 16 year old gelding who is a naughty boy. so i free schooled him first to take his edge off and then tacked him up.
He has a habit of getting a bit prancy when mounting so the owner held on to him, this is where it all happened.
just as i got up he knocked the owner to the floor and she KICKED him in the stomach.......(let that sink in) and he went mad he was bucking like a bronco and i went flying.
i landed really badly on my foot (could have been worse) so a trip to casualty later and they have told me i have fractured my foot and i am now in plaster and on crutchers.........
My husband is going mad.
i have to agree what a silly thing for her to do........
Can you top that!!!

I think i would have kicked her in the stomach - with the good foot!!! Sounds painful, poor you

u got insurance? id have her over it she cnt get away with that woud u say it was her fault u fell? could u have stayed on if she hadnt kicked said horse?

I'd have kicked her in the stomach too with my good foot. That's stuff from the Dark Ages FFS. Wonder how the hell the horse is going to be the next time someone goes to get on, after that debacle.

People like the owner make me absolutely sick.

Your foot sounds incredibly painful, hope you heal quickly.

If I was you I would ask her if her insurance now covers for you to be off with your broken foot as it was her fault the accident happened.

Bloody silly woman.

I'm sorry

. I got a smashed up foot way back when after a hack, the horse I'd ridden scratched up against a 5' gas canister thing which happened not to be bolted to, oh, say a wall, as the law required so it toppled over over in slow motion directly onto my right foot. In hindsight, better my foot than the horse's leg, but anywho, the paramedics hacked my boot off with scissors even though I think just pulling it off would have hurt me less

, so ten years on my foot feels funny if I wear the wrong shoes or get too cold. BTW, I'm not sure it'll make you feel much better but I've read somewhere that in moments like that, 'snap reactions' tell you a lot about who a person really is. And I'm sorry the hubby is going mad. That can't help either. A kiss on the forehead and a nice cup of tea would be much more constructive.

well the yard has no insurance.
she phoned tonight and totally blames the horse!!!!
i am cross now that she has forgotten about the kick.
if she had not kicked the horse everything would be peachy.
but what i didn't say was she is not the owner of the horse he is livery but the owner of the yard......even worse huh.

This is why I no longer help people with their horse problems. Its not worth getting injured and then you can't do your own. Sounds like this horse's problem is mostly the pleb who kicked it anyway. Sorry you got hurt, hope you feel better soon.

I would sue her. She deserves it imo, and if she runs a yard should have insurance. Presumeably you will be affected in what you can do for a while and her kicking the horse caused you to come off, stupid thing to do and that action would cause me to sue her.

thank you everyone.
i totally agree its only the second day and my hands are killing me from the crutches.
ther weather is really nice and i can't even ride......Bugger!!
i don't really know what to do next i really want to keep going to the yard but this is not the first tiem they have been unsafe.
are you ready for my next one =.
Daughter of owner was teaching in arena and the horse is a little naughty and kicked one of its legs out at the daughter (41) and she got sand and hit the pony on the bum and same thing happened kid came off and hurt back has since stopped riding. I think that is a far sadder story than mine....

That is absolutely correct. I trained in full contact Martial Arts for close to 25 years, and you really get the measure of an opponent when you set them on their ar$e. Those that keep their head are tough, but most get angry (bruised ar$e and EGO) and are then easy to defeat.

This sounds like a very poor yard, with both mother and daughter prepared to take out their inadequacies on poor animals. I have seen it before and it won't be confined to horses. Ignorant bullies, the pair of them.
