Coloured hair extension for manes and tails!

Part of me thinks "Oh, those crazy americans, turning animals into fashion accessories!" but I'm actually secretly a little taken with some of them - the oranges and reds on a black horse, for example, and the turquoise on a dun.

What do you reckon? Would you do it to your horse? Would they ever forgive you?

Wouldn't look at all right on a tidy pulled mane - but on those long flowing manes in the pictures it puts me in mind of the red indian coloured horses (in the old western films) with feathers and similar decorations in their manes and it (kind of) looks ok. - not going to rush out and buy them for my girl though.

I like them, I suppose I would do, being an old hippy. I think the colours are beautiful. If you could get them in fluorescent green and clipped a load in your horse's mane and tail you'd be sure to be seen on the roads. I also like that they donate money to Breast Cancer research when you buy them.

If you were dressing the grey up to be a barbie unicorn it would suit... otherwise I would steer clear! Have seen normal coloured extensions used for example when someone's tail has been eaten and that works well though.

I must admit, I looked at this thread and thought 'eugh, no way would I do that'...and then I clicked on the link :o

I think Star would actually eat me alive if I approached her with anything like that, but she'd look so pretty :D

I actually quite like them. Some look better than others. I like them more if they are more subtly and artistically put in.

Sorry, I thought they were quite pretty - just for fun! :D I did think Hi-viz ones might be useful and those who are keen on their matchy-matchy could really go to town!

Hugo would NEVER forgive me - he gets cross when I've brushed his forelock and tell him he looks so pretty! :p

hehehe oh it's so tempting to get some for the big grey girl, she would be most pee'd off:eek: i wondering if threatening her with them would encourage her to grow her own mane;):D

yes i would on my macho ginger lad...if he was a bad lad. It would go nice with a pink head collar and glittery hoof oil on bad lad days!

I did not think I would like them but at this time of year and the very misty dark days we are having I think I would be tempted to put the Green Light Up Clip On in my horses tail when we go out. Anything that might help drivers see the rear might be good.

haha, i like the bit that says

'Makes your horse look faster' lol x

I'd probably put them on my mare if she had a long mane tbh!! lol x Pink and purple all the way...like a real life my little pony!! x

Ooooh! I really have to hold myself back these days. My inner little girl is kicking and screaming for me to buy everything now I have my 'first pony' at 26! I am constantly having debates over 'is this a step too far, does it make you a crazy horse lady?'

I actually agree the turquoise is best, especially on the dun. Now what colour for a haffie....
