Well it depends on the point of riding. If the point is to get to Badminton, you're gonna have to jump big. If the point is to become a 100k+ insta influencer, then you'll either have to jump big OR you might get away with riding tackless in public spaces (eg beach) OR you could just teach your horse dangerous tricks that make them unsellable (rearing on a random, subtle command that future owners will have no idea about).

But if the point is to have fun? Well, then just do whatever you find fun ?‍
