Waterfall water is infinitely more tasty than boring old normal water...

Very pleased with her ladyship; with the exception of yammering at a sheep (:o) she's been an angel and has learnt to put her weight into the harness and pull whenever I shout 'hike!' which makes getting up the steep bits infinitely easier. :D

Please excuse the repetitive nature of the photos, Mister I-hate-the-countryside Blackcob doesn't do the outdoors (remind me why I love this man...) so they're all from a tow-ee's perspective.

Bless her! Otto is hopefully going to Glencoe this year, to bag a few Muroes, although it's likely he will do each one several thousand times - can't wait to see how tired he is after! :D

Photos of our walk today would have been exciting, given we had to pull two old men off each other after one kicked the other's dog  There was blood and everything!

You wait until me and Henry get up Scafell Pike - that's assuming I can make it up of course:o

Hen, where were you???

There was blood and everything!

What, from the men or from the dogs?!

The only people we met today were townies in totally unsuitable footwear, including one lady wearing a pair of white capris and white leather sandals who'd plonked herself down on a rock and was having a barney with her OH because she was tired and refused to move. :D :D

The Outwoods, near Beacon Hill, not Braunstone! There were families everywhere (including the two young daughters of one of the men!) and these two blokes were having a scrap on the floor! One of them was 67 - I know this because he kept yelling, 'I'm 67'...

Good grief!

We didn't meet anyone today in the fields, just a family on the street near to home who wanted to stroke Henry and said how lovely he is (how little they know)

PMSL at the fight Hen!!:D:D:D

Our walk was very tame in comparison to all of yours - two over excited labs and a stinky spangle hooning around the fields chasing hares and ducks in the brook - and rolling in dead things.......:D:D:D

The Mountain looks fab - did it tire her out though?:D

What, from the men or from the dogs?!

The Men, the dogs couldn't have cared less!
The kicking had apparently been because one of the dogs was aggressive, but given that when we stepped in to split them up there was our 5 and a couple of Joggers' dogs who had also stopped to help (the joggers not the dogs!) loose with the 'aggressive' dog and not a hackle raised or growl from any of them (including when one of our tried to bonk the 'aggressive' dog) I can't believe it was that big an issue!

The blokes could do with taking some pointers from their dogs I think!

Shhhh, don't call it a mountain, CC will have me for false advertising. :p :D

She is totally pooped - still asleep now! You'd think she wouldn't be so tired seeing as she can't be off-lead but apparently hauling my sorry arse around does the trick instead.

Oh she looks to have filled out nicely, her weight is lovely:)
I took some walk pics today with my designer cross breeds in toe, will have to post them.

Your walks sound far too exciting for me Hen!

Love the mountain pics Black Cob, is that Carding Mill valley?

Gold star. :) We did Caer Caradoc again last week, I shall have to consult my map as we're running out of new routes. Somewhere with less sheep and tourists would be advantageous. :p

I'm glad you think so, she is starting to chunk up, still looks skinny as a rake at full stretch mind you. :D

I don't mind if you want to hijack, post away! It's been such a nice day for a walk today, I'm only sorry I didn't have someone to take better pics (and to take me to the pub after, grumble grumble... :p).

It looks fairly quiet, whenever I have gone there its been full of people , and sheep!
Daughter did her Duke of Ediburgh Gold award training on Caradoc, she reckoned it was a mountain until they came to do the real thing on Snowdon :D

Fab piccies! Love your part of the world. Too long ago to remember if I did that walk...

She can have a quiet day tomorrow then, eh? :p

If you did any circular routes starting in the main valley then you almost certainly have done, it goes past a pretty waterfall. :)

No day is a quiet day with her around, might try stalker-dodging in the park tomorrow. :p

Cool :)
I remember a lovely couple coming up to me and asking if I had lost anything. Noticed my silver bangle was missing and they had picked it up....if that was over here I would have never seen it again!
I was walking a collie called Sally at the time, was a bit confusing because the lady I was staying with was also called Sally :o

Done my preaching about over-cooking today already so you're off the hook :p
Five month old puppy getting more hard exercise than my 2.5yos.....

The valley itself was swarming but I picked a steep route so we only met the occasional perplexed-looking person in flipflops. :p The amount of people who go there and never seem to leave the little area around the teashop makes me laugh.

I maintain that it is a mountainlet. :D Haven't done Snowdon in years, dread to think how long it would take me these days... dad has been murmuring about taking a trip there before he goes away this summer, might be on the cards for huskamoot and I.

Oooo - i want to live wher you live!! Cambridge is so flippin' flat :( Lovely pics :D

(P.S. Is it Arden Grange that Huskies do well on? A work colleauge has a part-bred which is super skinny :( )

Being directly attached the distance and speed she can cover is restricted by how much distance and speed I can do; I am thus not worried about overdoing it as I am a sweating lardarse. ;) :p Lots of breaks to 'admire the view' (sitting down in sheep sh*t and sucking desperately on the Platypus water thingy, wishing I'd eaten less burgers as a teenager).

Passed a lovely big GSD in the valley, he was looking after a tiny little girl and she was clinging on to his scruff in order to cross a stream. You could see he was stepping extra carefully to help her across. :)

Madam is fed variously on Royal Canin and raw meals, I'm not sure if they're prone to it as a breed but the few I've met have all had sensitive tummies and they don't seem to do well on 'cheap' food. My nan fed her Bakers once, never again! Though when you find the right food they don't need much of it, they eat as much as they need and then stop. Very economical. :)

PMSL and I had images of you powering up the hills at 40mph. You disappoint me!

Bless, I love it when dogs are age appropriate. One of my old girls was so gentle with kids and the elderly but slapped me up the face so hard I still have the bump on my nose.

Naw bless:)

I keep meaning to take Jack up there properly as we only went for a 'short' walk last time we went up that way. He loves it :D I'm just lazy so the idea of hauling myself up exhausts me never mind actually doing it ;)

Pah, all you soft southerners, Snowdon isn't a real mountain! :p OH is from Anglesey and the first time he took me home he asked me is I had ever seen a Mountain before... Perhaps not the most intelligent question to ask someone who had bagged over 30 Munros before they were 15 and climbed Ben Nevis when she was toty-wee :D :D (Although these days, Snowdon is probably beyond me :o :D)
