Well, the new trainer is the best person we've ever found!

And this video nearly made me cry (it's only about 20 seconds):

I must admit that I neither understand the DA bit in the thread title, nor why the video nearly makes you cry, and you don't have to explain it, I just couldn't resist replying to say that I also watched the video "Zak reacting to a picture.of a dog", and I really liked it!

It was so good, him suddenly noticing the dog in the TV, and then when his reaction distracts the other dog in the room, he steal the other ones gnaw bone! :D

Glad you have a new trainer that you like. :)

My late lamented Fred was seriously DA, if another dog barked in my presence he wanted to kill it and he would have done as he was a huge dog. Once he started if you tried to check him he would come up the lead at you. I was kicked out of a few training classes even though I had explained thoroughly on the phone what he was like and was assurred they could help us but once they had seen him in action they couldnt get rid of us quick enough. It made me feel dreadful, I felt I was letting him down, I knew he was a good dog at heart so perserved and found an ex police dog trainer who had Dobes . Like you fnding the right trainer for your dog was a revelation and does go to prove there are good trainers out there you just have to do your homework. Luckily for you you didnt send Zak to the Naughty Dog School as he would have been humped within a inch of his life and reinforced his fear of other dogs.

DA means dog aggressive. After being attacked, Zak became extremely aggressive towards other dogs. He attacks anything, including Rottweilers. We have tried several trainers, allow whom promised the earth but made no difference. This one is making a big difference. :)

The video of him reacting to the TV is typical, his brother stealing his toys also typical!!

Glad he is coming along!
Am i right in thinking current trainer is a gun dog trainer- the training and giving my lab a job has made him 100x more obedient and can now stop him running to other dogs!
