ITs a young lad selling her and reading between the line he has decided that because she came 3rd in a tiny SJ competition that she is worth the original asking price of £4500 NO CHANCE.. She went round obedient enough but obviously slightly over whelmed by it all and the ad said ready to BSJA ha anyone coming to view her will no she isn't. She has no top line, no muscle anywhere really. Says Selle Francais but no papers and looks more IDxTB. I think the person he bought her off lied about her breeding. I would have paid £3000 because I liked her temperament

So hunt is on again

Why not just bide your time. If you feel sure this is the horse for you, and you are confident that no-one is going to pay 4.5k - why not just sit tight.

Make sure he has your number - and ask him to ring you if he changes his mind about the price.

If I haven't found anything else I will text them in a few weeks see what they say,.. at least with a text they don't have to answer

There are a few others I am looking at

A horse is worth what some-one is prepared to pay for it.
IMO texting in a few weeks will give the wrong impression & look as if you have reconsidered and puts the seller in control, better to tell them now that you think that she is over-priced, the most you are prepared to pay is £3000 and if THEY re-consider will they please let you know.

Were they aware before you went to see her at the show that you wanted to only pay 66% of the asking price?
