When she does her horses, goes home to pick her children up and take them home, comes back to the yard, picks her trailer up, goes and picks up 34 bales of hay, drives all the way back to your yard, unloads 28 bales, for YOU and then goes back to her yard and is left with 6 bales of hay …… and then has to park up her trailer again

….. and when I exclaim "Are you sure you don’t want any more, as you have done ALL this for me" she says "don’t be so silly you help me with my horse(s) and dog, so this is nothing"
ooo.gif

But I ride her horse and love it and look after her dog when she is on holiday as I love it

Are you as lucky as I am to have a friend like this

.. there must be loads of lovely ones out there

Yup. Have three friends who I class as 'best, most fab & excellent friends'.

If I was in trouble I know without a doubt they would do what they could to help, the one in particular

And two are exes so, it doesn't always have to end badly!

Nah, I'm the one who goes and collects 40+ bales of shavings, unloads them all for various people at the yard, then unloads my own 5 bales!!! How nice am I???
grin.gif

Well whatever you do, she seems to appreciate it.

Can you be my friend

....... and what can I do for you
grin.gif

.... when she lets you off the £30 a month she charges for the rent of stable and field! And looks after my horse when I'm on holiday and arranges for the muck trailer to be emptied and gets her OH to muck out the field for me!
I do look after her horse and dog and house for her though when she and her OH are away (which is quite a lot as they have a house in France)!

Your friend sounds a treasure. I don't have any friends.
I rang someone who is supposed to be a sort of friend tonight and got totally p@ssed off. I help anyone and everyone and never ask for help myself - it doesn't come. Anyway she said months ago she would help with my show. I rang tonight and she came up with a lame excuse.
I asked if anyone in the association i belonged to could help - no! Twots all of them. They have a do on Fri. I am going to go with huge posters to p@ss them off. I normally don't care but they have gone out of their way to be horrible.
I used to move peoples horses for them - for free! When my horse had cancer and i had no transport no-one wanted to know. He was given 1 week to get operated on or face being pts. I swore i would never help them again but i did when i got another box.
You know who your friends are when you need them. Treasure a friend if you have one.
People have told me to write a book. I am going to start with Florins proper full story and put into it what those twots did. I won't name them but others will know.
They are my friend when they want something.
I suppose it was my fault for asking for help, that will teach me.

Yes, very recently a friend at the stables waited with our horse while the vet came out as an emergency as the horse got worse when we went to work (neither boss would give time off). She then supplied us with bandages by the bucket! Then she and another stable friend mucked out in the middle of the day every day so that she had a clean bed for her poorly feet (we did morning and night but at work during the day).

We do our fair share, though, as we are one of few up there who can afford a trailer/box.

What good friends some of us have.
I too am blessed. I have a trapped nerve in my back and in a lot of pain. This morning after the docs i managed to go to yard. Friend had seen to my horses as arranged. But when i got there she had already mucked out my stable for me. I was so grateful i could have cried.
My husband also works abroad and on the day he was going away again at beginning of June my other friend sent me a message to say she had done my stable and not to worry about coming up, jsut to have a nice day as she had done everything for me.
We all help each other out, but it is so nice when people do nice unexpected things for you.
I am so lucky.
