You know winter is coming when .........

I've been mega organised this year and all mine have been washed and bagged since early summer. Need to pressure wash out my stable now I've finally stopped box rest though, it is stiiiiiiiiiiinky

I've been super organised too!

Got all my rugs from fleeced to HW's washed and stored back in their bags, order all my hay, straw and haylage. Bought a new set of stable and turnout boots too.

Yesterday I cleaned out his stable then pressure washed all the barn!

I think I'm set to go!

I have a pile of rugs to be washed and mended and I swept the hay barn out last week.

Must send my clippers off for a service before the autumn rush as some enormous buffoon stood on the cable last year and I daren't risk them now

Thanks for the reminder!! Another job I have to do is get the clippers sharpened again!

I tried every rug my pony owns on him yesterday, he wasnt too impressed at being a model lol I sorted them in to piles

OK to use
Need a wash in machine
Need a wash with the hose
Need repairing
Dont fit and need to be sold

I then made piles of different coloured rugs, bandages, hoods, boots. girths, numnahs and headcollars all over my patio in line for the washing machine so all blues together, all red together etc

Then someone came to view the house next door and my husband muttered something about our garden letting down the neighbourhood!

I'm hoping if i don't think about winter it won't actually arrive this year!

I do need to get my bum in gear and try on all rugs on the new horse and then get them washed. Will do it after my holiday :o

I waste a lovely sunny day jet washing rugs - feels very satisfying but also sad that it'll be rug time soon :(

Boo for winter

Thats a really good idea, I never thought of jet washing rugs, so much cheaper than paying to get them cleaned! I defiently agree 'boo for winter'!

Hay and straw in the barn......check
feed ordered for delivery the beginning of October.....check

Yep, I'm spot on the money for the winter!!!

you have purchased all but one new rug for the winter, holding out on the heavy for a bit to see if the 3 yr old gets any bigger. every time you go to scats or Robinsons, you come away with a bale or 2 of shavings ready for Nov when they have to come in at night.

you have just purchased a winter jacket and a waterproof jacket for yourself!

My rugs are all washed and ready, stable cleaned and painted, clippers at the ready. Just need to buy hay and bedding oh, and a new rug from Burghley - don't need one but, it's tradition :D

It's definitely still summer (puts fingers in ears - la la la la la ;).) oh, but it does seem to be getting dark earlier so nearly time to sort out the flood lights on the school

All done weeks ago, really on top of my game this year Really warm day here down south and I went into the local tack shop and brought myself a lovely winter coat and just for a moment wished it would be cold enough for me to wear it lol.

It is dark by half past eight in the evening.

There are blackberries in the hedgerows, I'm sure we never used to get blackberries in August?
