.. there is a hairy yak in the field instead of your horse.
.. you buy new ear warmers and a new winter hat.
.. you know without even sticking your hand out the window that the sun is deceptive and it is not actually warm outside.

I start to look for my old faithfull green woolly beanie hat....

I clean the mould out of the beet bin.....

I look for my head-torch and discover I left batteries in it when the clocks went back and inside is rusted to buggery.....

The swallows leave.....

Mine left two or three weeks ago, and my hummingbirds have been noticably absent this week since the night time temps hit single figures ...on their way to Mexico now I should think.

Our squirrels are fighting over walnuts, just pick the damn things up off my front yard folks, plenty for all of you.

I tell myself that we have all of Fall to go yet, it isn't officially the end of summer until Saturday.
