Of course this is tongue in cheek, and nothing I’m going to say will come as a surprise to anyone! Colin is 5 months old now, and occasionally I think back to my absolute trepidation about (a) getting a puppy at all after all this time and (b) getting another terrier (especially when I have George!!!!!!!). A number of people told me I was mad, I was terrified

Well you’ve probably realised, Colin could not have been easier and I am grateful every single day to his breeder for letting me have him (I’ve told his breeder that too!). Colin is happy, friendly, engaging, cheerful, pragmatic, adaptable and easy - I truly could not have wished for a better puppy. He had proved easy to house train, he gets on well with the big dogs, he walks well on the lead, he socialises well without any problems, he sleeps overnight without difficulty, he will stay in a crate when I am out/having a work online meeting without complaint - yes, if I’m honest, I’m shocked how easy he is!

And of course he is totally and utterly adorable, how could anyone not love that little face, that wagging tail and body, and that desire to please at all times!

sorry to eulogise, but I’m so pleased I got him - my next dog will be a rescue greyhound, but I adore my little JRT puppy ❤️❤️❤️C0617DF5-EE66-4422-98CF-E7833C8F4AE8.jpeg

I felt and still feel the same Levrier!! :) :) So many people raised their eyebrows and told me I was brave to get a terrier puppy. The horror stories I have heard about terriers in general and Irish terriers in particular were quite amazing!! I spoke to a very nice fence judge at Badminton HT who had an IT and she told me that she was basically in therapy as a result of her lovely dog's wicked ways but Red has been the easiest, sweetest most charming dog ever. So I am a total terrier convert and the next one I get will probably show me why people think we are mad...:p:p

You cannot beat a good terrier (or in my latest case a bad one). I cannot tell you how much joy our little one has brought us. She is funny, sneaky, cheeky, loving, affectionate. Every day someone stops me on a walk and says how super cute she is. Her only fault is she has been hard to housetrain for some reason but we are getting there - about 98% reliable now. She has graduated to sleeping in our bed both in the night and in the day :)
