Try looking at the horizon, not the waves.
I've tried it all, it's even worse if I look up. I catch the sea out of the corner of my eye and it's even more disorientating. As someone who doesn't suffer sea sickness or any form of travel sickness it's very weird but I feel dreadful every time I try.

He’s super handsome and I’m glad you’re having such fun. Intrigued to see him with a mane and forelock! I’m sure he’ll still be handsome but I do have a soft spot for a hog when its on a good looking hunk!

Fantastic post lovely to read how well it is going and how you have found a new partner. The second picture down say's it all. You were lucky to find him.

Not looking down doesn't help me. I couldn't even look at it from the water's edge yesterday after I'd come out. Oscar was loving his splash about and I had to turn my back on the sea while we waited for him. It's getting worse every time I try. I keep trying though as I love the idea of it. If I can get in deep enough fast enough it's not so bad. I could close my eyes on Arch and let him walk in and I knew by the time I opened them we'd be far enough in. I had to stand still though, I couldn't then move in the water so there wasn't any point to it really other than a photo opp (and we all know how useless I am with those!)
Can you try the SeaLegs wrist bands on your wrists before you go in and see if that makes a difference?
Also, worth getting your eyes checked - my travel sickness has all but disappeared since an optician realised my eyes don’t track together at the same speed - my right eye is a bit jerky. As soon as my glasses changed to deal with that, no travel sickness, it’s been a revelation!

I never thought about wrist bands, that might be worth a try. I have my eyes tested pretty regularly as I use a screen so much in work and actually have very good vision but I've never mentioned this issue so I will next time - it's only when I'm on a horse though, fine on a boat or in a car, bus, train, plane! The easiest thing to do would be to admit defeat and avoid it but it always looks like so much fun I want to try!

I was inspired by my friend, she bought a hogged maxi cob (the aforementioned Oscar) in January and decided to grow his hog out. It's taken until now to get to a decent length but he looks great. Along with losing a bit of weight, muscling up (he was only 5 when he arrived) and his legs growing a bit he now looks like a sport horse rather than a cob - he was handsome as a cob but the sport horse look really suits him. Oscar is even chunkier than Wiggy so I'm hoping it will look as good on him.

Well thats as good a reason as any to keep sharing pictures of him looking gorgeous as he grows his crew cut out! ?

Love your updates. So glad you feel so at home with him already. He does sound absolutely fabulous

I felt exactly the same about mine when we started getting out and doing things and I couldn’t help gushing over her. (Even tiny things) she’s my first younger horse and we’ve both done a lot of firsts together so it’s been the best fun. So keep us updated with your adventures ?
