You might remember this; last month a man lost his arm when his American Bulldogs turned on him. Yesterday he was walking three of them (different dogs) and they attacked another dog walker, resulting in injuries to three people. No word on the dog in this report, but I doubt it's unscathed.

I'm saddened that more people have been injured in what I'd say is an entirely foreseeable incident. After all, they may be not be the individuals who attacked the owner, but they are a pack and would therefore be more likely to exhibit similar behaviour.

I'm slightly surprised (but probably shouldn't be) that nothing more was done after the guy was attacked. It just looks like another accident was waiting to happen.

I hope those injured sue this man and he can't keep dogs any more, for his own and everyone else's safety.

Assuming the facts to be correct, considering the source, the cry will now go up to Blame the Deed and not the Breed. Dogs which have a propensity to be dangerous should have no place in the Pet Home. As you S_K, I'm staggered that following on from the first attack, that he wasn't forced in to having any dog removed and destroyed, which was in his possession.

All dogs have the ability to bight. The larger the breed, so generally the greater the strength behind the bight. There are however, those breeds which coupled to immense strength and power, have the determination of a terrier and a trainability to match. Such dogs are beyond the capabilities of most, and such animals have no place, even in professional and experienced homes. Such breeds are banned, and there's a very good reason for that, they mostly seem to attract the idiots.

Again, a caveat, all of the above is considering the report to be factual!

Alec.

6 decent sized dogs, (could be any breed to be fair) man with one arm..... that's going to amount to awesome control isnt it?

and he's breeding from them, when they obviously have very dubious temperaments, so how many more are "out there".......

What I find astounding is how many owners have multiple large dogs of a strong and wilful nature. With the best will in the world it's so risky trying to control several dogs like this.
Years ago a man was literally pulled over by his 2 mastiffs trying to attack my springer. Madness.

He was walking 6 of them not 3!! From that article the poor dogs are probably totally untrained, bored and unsocialised. He should be banned from keeping them.

Yeah it's changed to six now. Six!! I wouldn't want to walk six nice well behaved American bulldogs, that's enough to tow a people carrier never mind a person who recently suffered a traumatic amputation!

I am worried about the effect of this type of stupidity on the rest of us... Calls for a £100 per year dog licence per dog etc... I can afford that, but I don't see why I should pay it when you could pretty much guarantee people like this, who it's supposed to deter, won't bother.

As Alec said, why anyone would want one of this breed as a pet is beyond me. The man is a dangerous fool and he should be PTS with his dogs. Poor other people, how frightening. This is why I won't let my 13 year old son walk our dogs on his own except for on our land, too many bloody fools out there with dangerous, badly bought up dogs.
