Is there such a colour as 'roan appaloosa'?? - just as a guess maybe, its the only thing I can discribe her as, but never seen another like it yet.... has anyone else seen anything like it before??

Mushroom! or sooty buckskin. These colours really do exist i havn't just made them up honest.
Check out this website and be prepared to be brainwashed by the amount of colour possibilites, when certain genes are mixed.I had no idea there were so many!www.seaspiritoftheforest.co.uk/equine/HorseColours

I wouldn't say the pony is either of those two colours

Don't think they're a dilute.

I think they carry the Leopard complex in one way or another, but to what extent I don't know!! I think whats making it hard is the fact that there seems to be little white patterning.
Whilst they look varnish they look like a varnish at an early stage - though they are 13. But then I know nothing on the speed of varnish roan.

Well you have the stripy hooves and bi-coloured skin for an appy, what you don't have is the typical sparse mane and tail!

As for anything else there are some colour experts on here, I am not one of them.

Cute whatever the label

There is a shettie up the road from me almost the same as that but he is a shade lighter but think thats because he,s an older pony . If i was guessing at colour think he was some type of appy the spotty muzzle and pigmentation around eyes gives it away but not a colour specialist
