Young horse humping her back

How downhill is she? Could the saddle be too long?

It might be worth giving her some time off in case she is going through a growth spurt and only start riding again once she has evened up a little.

Pretty downhill shes 15.2 and has only a 17" seat on her as shes quite compact. I have got a saddle fitter coming out next week although the vet can find no soreness it would be interesting to see what other options there are. She is XXXXL gullet so like a tank. Its a purpose designed saddle for horse of this type but I really don't like it anyway so wouldn't be upset to get something else.

I have been reading up on this, because of Kevin, The data I have been reading suggests that PSSM is higher in European breed heavy horses and lower in Uk bred horses such as Shires and clydes. Can i ask where you are getting you data from? Thank you.

I'll try and find it again. It was a large scale study done by biopsy on a whole range of horse breeds. I think the information you are referring to is probably for type 1. All the references I can find suggest that type 2 is rife in heavies. Both mine are type 2, I think.
