Young horse with very soft mouth....but no brakes!!? Advice??

Here we have both riders with a verticle line drawn in - BOTH show the correct line, Ear, shoulder, hip, heel

Both photos have been taken in a moment of time where unless you know what was happening before and after makes it hard to comment on the final position

The first rider is more in a driving position - we know she is riding a baby so may have been caught just pushing the horse forward.

The second, slightly tilted at the seat could be just about to ask for rein back when the weight is tilted forward and maybe in the next step the riders leg will move back to give the aids.

Depends on saddle & individual. It is possible in a gp, but it varies. Bareback is probably a much cheaper way, & imo probably a more foolproof way.
